Integrated Radio with Modular Antenna Options
The C5x’s native 8 dBi gain can be increased to 12, 16, 20, or 25 dBi using Mimosa’s modular X-series twist-on antennas, offering the ease and simplicity of integrated radios, but with so much more flexibility.

Reliable, Rugged, and Flexible
The C5x reduces localized noise and provides immunity from interference with breakthrough front-to-back and front-to-side performance from each of the X-series antennas. With an IP67 rating and extended 4.9–6.4 GHz frequency, you can take it almost anywhere.
Incredible RF Performance
Encased in metal and leveraging custom-designed horn and Cassegrain antennas, the C5x reduces localized noise and provides immunity from interference with breakthrough front-to-back and front-to-side performance. Each antenna in the N5-X family is optimized to isolate noise with incredible sidelobe rejection.
Extended Frequency
To escape the noise, the C5x lets you take advantage of both 4.9 GHz public safety applications and licensed frequencies up to 6.4 GHz, where allowed by local regulations. The custom-designed X-series modular antennas are specifically optimized for C5x extended frequency support.
Ultra Rugged
The C5x, with its die-cast aluminum metal enclosure, dual-pole mounts and industrial-grade, twist-on antenna options, is optimized to reduce noise, withstand the outdoor elements and stay mounted in extreme weather.
Can the C5x base radio at 8 dBi be used without an antenna?
Yes. You can use the base C5x 8 dBi radio without an antenna for short distance links. Please remove the locking screw from the twist-on screws to serve as a drain hole.
What distances are supported for PTP C5x links?
This depends on the antenna size and regulatory power settings. The C5x and all the X-series antenna options are available in Mimosa’s Network Design Tool (NDT). It’s free and very easy to model a PTP link, give it a try at: https://design.mimosa.co/designtool/ndt
What PTMP distances are supported by the C5x?
The modular C5x was designed to provide great prices for short and long distance PTMP links. The usable distance depends on AP antenna gain, C5x antenna gain and regulatory power settings. The C5x and all the X-series antenna options are available in Mimosa’s Network Design Tool (NDT). It’s free and very easy to model a PTMP coverage area, give it a try at: https://mimosa.co/design-tool
Do the C5x + X-series antennas work with the Fleximount?
Yes, with one exception. The Fleximount works for the C5x and N5-X12, N5-X16 and N5-X20. The Fleximount is not strong enough to use with the C5x and the N5-X25.
